Southern Region Junior Championships
What a fantastic weekend at Warrington Surf Life Saving Club for the Southern Region (South Island) Junior Championships.
We love heading to Otago where the welcome is always warm! A small team of eight athletes represented New Brighton. Each athlete had a top 6 placing, earning points for our Club. We finished the weekend 8th overall, out of 14 Clubs, which is incredible for our size! What is even more important though is the memories and friendships that were made from this shared experience GO NEW BRIGHTON.
Thanks to Doug and Cam for organising the trip and coaching.
Thanks to the parents who made it happen and whose support and positivity make our club a family friendly place.
Thanks to our lifeguard Lachlan Penrose who got to patrol on his board with dolphins and seals.

What is Oceans?
Oceans sees U14 athletes from all over New Zealand compete in the biggest junior carnival of the season, at Mt Maunganui. It aims to provide an opportunity for junior members to compete, challenge themselves and celebrate the camaraderie of surf lifesaving in a fun, exciting and safe beach and surf environment.
THANK YOU to SLSNZ | Southern Region and Warrington Surf Life Saving Club as well as all coaches, officials, lifeguards, managers, sponsors, parents and whanau for making the magic happen on the beach and in the water.
